How Futur First replaced spreadsheets with a more connected way to manage a waste brokerage
Futur First manages multiple waste streams across hundreds of customer sites throughout the UK. As the business grew, spreadsheets became too time-consuming and difficult to manage. Waste Logics brought its customers, orders and subcontractors into one system, reducing manual processes and giving the team greater visibility across its growing brokerage operation.

The Challenge
Futur First initially relied on spreadsheets to manage and operate its business. However, as the business continued to scale, it became increasingly apparent that the existing processes were holding them back.
Director, Charles Swainston, added: “Using spreadsheets was quite frankly laborious and took too much time. We could easily make errors and needed something much more effective, quick and accurate in order to record the detailed information our clients required.”
As a broker, Futur First manages multiple waste streams from several customers so they needed a system which can monitor all collections across a large supply chain, provide accurate weights and data, generate detailed recycling reports and seamlessly integrate with their accountingg software.
We chose Waste Logics because it offered a number of specific functions which we needed, including recording individual customers’ very specific needs.

Finding a system built for the complexities of a waste brokerage
Futur First reviewed the market with support from an independent IT Director, looking for a system that could meet the specific requirements of a growing waste brokerage.
The team needed to manage customer requirements, subcontractors and bookings efficiently, while maintaining accurate reporting and visibility across the business. Waste Logics brought these processes together in one system and gave Futur First the flexibility to manage its operation from wherever the team was working.
