How Allied Waste Services Streamlined Booking, Routing and Margin Control with Waste Logics

Allied Waste Services is a growing Australian waste operator managing both skip hire and high-volume commercial waste collections. As operations scaled, Allied needed a system that could reduce admin friction, simplify daily rerouting, and provide clear visibility into route profitability.

The Challenge

As Allied expanded its commercial waste operations, everyday booking and routing tasks became increasingly difficult to manage at scale. Making changes in the system often involved multiple steps and manual checks. Something as simple as reassigning a job could take more than five minutes, creating friction during busy days and increasing the risk of errors and rework. When drivers were unavailable or workloads shifted, allocators relied on phone calls, whiteboards, and manual coordination to keep services running. While the business continued to grow, these processes made it harder to maintain control and protect margins. Allied needed a waste management system that could: • Handle high job volumes efficiently • Make booking and routing changes quick and intuitive • Support daily disruption without operational chaos • Provide clear insight into which routes and jobs were profitable

It was by far the most user-friendly system we looked at. You can teach someone in two days and they can start doing the job properly.

The Decision

The Decision

Allied reviewed several waste management software options, looking for a platform that could support both skip hire and commercial waste operations while remaining easy for teams to use. Key requirements included: • A clean, intuitive interface for allocators and drivers • Strong route visualisation • Clear operational and financial reporting • A platform that would continue to evolve as the business grew • Waste Logics stood out for its usability and operations-first design

With Waste Logics, changes are basically instant. Bookings are cleaner, routing is visual, and allocators can make changes straight away.

The Impact

Faster Booking and Reduced Admin

Waste Logics dramatically simplified booking, routing, and job changes. Tasks that previously took more than five minutes and required multiple manual checks can now be completed almost instantly. Booking is cleaner, routing is visual, and allocators can make changes immediately. Across a normal week, this saves Allied several hours of admin time, while also reducing rework and avoiding mistakes that previously slipped through under pressure.

Smarter Rerouting When Plans Change

Disruption is a regular reality in waste operations. Drivers call in sick frequently, workloads change, and priorities shift throughout the day. Waste Logics allows Allied’s allocators to see the full operational picture and rebalance routes quickly. Updates can be pushed straight to drivers, keeping services running without everything falling apart. Previously, these days involved constant phone calls, whiteboards, and a lot more stress. Now, while the days are still busy, they are far more controlled.

Clearer Visibility into Profitability and Margin Protection

One of the most valuable changes for Allied has been the clarity provided by Waste Logics’ reporting and visibility. Management can now clearly see which routes, trucks, and job types are making money and which are not. This visibility has enabled Allied to: • Adjust pricing where needed • Refine run structures • Make better decisions around overtime and scheduling As a result, Waste Logics has played a key role in protecting margins and preventing loss-making work from continuing unnoticed.

Easy for the Whole Team to Use

Waste Logics has been adopted quickly across Allied’s teams. Allocators have found the system far easier to pick up than previous software, significantly reducing onboarding time. Drivers are genuinely positive about the driver app, particularly the ability to add notes and photos on the job, which has cut down on back-and-forth with the office. From an admin perspective, the team now has far better access to reporting and can pull the data they need without chasing information across systems.

Looking Ahead

As Allied continues to grow into new markets, Waste Logics provides confidence that the business can scale without losing control of margins, service quality, or compliance. With ongoing updates and new features, Waste Logics continues to evolve alongside Allied’s operations, helping the team stay ahead of complexity rather than reacting to it.
