About Digital Waste Tracking
What is Digital Waste Tracking?
Digital Waste Tracking is a UK government initiative designed to create a more consistent, transparent and accurate record of waste movements.
It aims to replace fragmented paper-based processes with a central digital system, making it easier to track waste from its origin through to its destination.
The key objectives are to:
Improve visibility of waste movements across the UK
Reduce waste crime and illegal disposal
Create more consistent, accurate and auditable records
Reduce reliance on paper-based reporting
Digital Waste Tracking became mandatory on 1 October 2026 for permitted and licensed waste receiving sites in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland are scheduled to follow from 1 January 2027, with further requirements for other parts of the waste chain being introduced in phases.

Digital Waste Tracking With
Waste Logics
Digital Waste Tracking is integrated into Waste Logics, helping operators manage their reporting requirements alongside their everyday operations.
Rather than treating compliance as a separate administrative task, our integration connects the information already held within Waste Logics to the government's Digital Waste Tracking service.
With Waste Logics you can:
Your operational and compliance data stays connected, helping you meet reporting requirements without adding another layer of administration.

WHAT'S NEXT
Beyond compliance.
Digital Waste Tracking tells you what waste has moved. But it doesn't automatically tell you what that means for your business.
Waste Logics helps you:
Improve visibility across collections, vehicles, sites and customers.
Understand profitability by linking operational activity to costs and revenue.
Make better decisions with clearer, more accessible business information.
Because compliance is the requirement. Running a better business is the opportunity.
