How Norris Skips built a connected, data-driven waste business

Norris Skips runs a complex mix of skip hire, trade waste and brokerage services. Keeping those divisions connected and profitable requires visibility across every job, vehicle and customer. Director, Kieron Norris explains how moving to Waste Logics has helped them join the dots, eliminate manual reporting and make faster, data-driven decisions.

Before

The Challenge

Norris was running its skip hire, trade waste and brokerage divisions across different systems, making it difficult to get a clear view of the business as a whole.

Reporting relied heavily on spreadsheets, with around ten hours each week spent manually pulling data together to understand performance. Credit control was also harder to manage, with customer information sitting across separate parts of the operation.

As the business grew, Norris needed a more connected way to manage its operations and access the information needed to make decisions quickly.

Now everything flows through one place. It is faster, more accurate, and gives us complete visibility across operations.

The Decision

Bringing the whole operation onto one platform

Norris needed one system that could support all three divisions while giving teams a shared view of what was happening across the business.

Waste Logics brought skip hire, trade waste and brokerage together on one platform, connecting operational and financial information that had previously been managed separately.

With everything in one place, Norris could reduce manual reporting, improve visibility across teams and use real-time information to make faster, more informed decisions.

We run the business on data now, not guesswork.

Results

The Impact

Around ten hours a week saved on manual reporting

Reporting that previously took around ten hours each week is now automatically updated.

Three divisions connected on one platform

Teams have a clearer view across the business without switching between separate platforms.

Real-time visibility across fleet, yard and finance

Norris can see what's happening as it happens rather than waiting for information to be manually pulled together.

Customer Q&A

In their own words

How did the move to the new system go?

Surprisingly fast. We went live in about four weeks, which was impressive given the size of our operation. Drivers adapted to the Driver app straight away, and the weighbridge and yard teams found it much easier to use.

What has changed day to day?

How has credit control been impacted?

Are your customers getting a better service from you?
