Kenny Waste Management (Kennys) is an end-to-end waste management company based in the heart of Manchester. Up until 2008, Kennys ran its core business processes through spreadsheets and other paper-based processes. However, it became increasingly more difficult to run its day-to-day using paper-based processes and they knew they needed a better way to work.
Their search for a solution led them to Waste Logics and so a 14-year prosperous partnership began. The main sources of their success came from:
Kenny Waste Management (Kennys) are an end-to-end waste management company based in the heart of Manchester. Kennys are one of the largest waste management businesses in the North West with over 30 years of skin in the game. Their consistent growth has allowed them to diversify their solutions and solve the growing challenges within the waste management industry.
They are committed to being a zero-landfill company and push this mission to their clients, so they can achieve a sustainable future for the world.
Similar to a lot of companies within the waste industry, Kennys ran its core business processes through spreadsheets and other paper-based processes. In 2008, as a business with sales of circa £3 million, with approximately 50 employees and 10 trucks at the time, it became increasingly more difficult to run the day-to-day using paper-based processes.
The administrative burden continued to consume their time and the mountains of paperwork were difficult to keep up with.
At the time of 2008, Kennys felt adopting a SaaS waste management solution would be a risk because software waste management solutions were uncommon and this would be treading on new ground. But after lengthy discussions, Waste Logics was able to address each challenge Kennys had with a solution the platform would instantly solve. With their core challenges addressed, Kennys decided to partner with Waste Logics and transform their business.
With over 14 years in partnership with Waste Logics, Kennys has seen success from Waste Logics’ end-to-end solution. As an invaluable partner to Waste Logics, Kennys has benefited from operational efficiency and detailed insights into their business from these solutions:
Our mobile apps (Driver App, Weighbridge app & SWP app): As paperless solutions, these apps delivered value uniquely for Kennys. The Driver App allowed them to digitise the driver runs, track jobs in real-time, take photos, signatures and report compliance issues or any difficulties on site. The Weighbridge app allowed them operate entirely paperless and create electronic weighbridge tickets for their customers to access. The SWP app recorded compliance issues as the loads are being tipped in real-time, ensuring they maximise profits whilst minimising the risk to the business. Via this app, they have also been recording the breakdown of each mixed waste load so they can provide very detailed recycling reports to their customers.
Customer Dashboard: This revolutionised the way Kennys communicated with their customers.. Using the Customer Dashboard, customers now self-serve for recycling reports, copy invoices and tickets resulting in big-time savings. Kennys have always had large national construction companies as its customers. The ever-increasing demands of these customers for detailed recycling reports, transparency about what happens with the waste and the CO2 emission savings realised have continually encouraged Waste Logics to evolve and create the best recycling reports in the business.
Electronic Archiving: This tool allows you to reduce paper storage, and increase document visibility to your customers, suppliers and staff. Especially useful to allow electronic access for their customers to all their legislative paperwork from Kenny’s supply chain.
Since adopting Waste Logics into their business Kenny Waste Management has experienced consistent growth, annually. With 14 years in partnership with Waste Logics, Kennys is now a business that does sales of circa £27 million, has approximately 150 employees, 40 vehicles regionally and large national outsourcing business.
The ability to view live data is really beneficial and enables you to measure many different aspects of the business and how it is performing. Tracking every movement of our own fleet or one of our 300 waste partners is a huge factor – Neil Mackay
